The current host of Love Island Laura Whitmore recently spoke out about Caroline Flack’s sudden exit. The latter was replaced by Laura after a scandal involving Flack’s boyfriend. She was arrested for assault on him and had to be forced out of the show as the channel did not want to deal with the PR nightmare.
After just two months of being under the public radar, Caroline ended her life.
Laura Whitmore said that Caroline believed that exiting the show was actually a good thing for her life as she had issues to deal with. She told Laura that there are many things that require immediate attention from her and leaving the position of the TV show host was beneficial in some way.
Whitmore added that she had to face some backlash from fans who did not appreciate the idea of suddenly replacing the host. The news of Caroline taking her own life was a hard pill to swallow for both fans and the new host of Love Island.
Caroline’s manager accused the channel and the police of causing distress to the TV presenter in a time when she had to deal with a lot of personal problems. The investigation of her death is still ongoing although a connection between her suicide and actions taken by the police was not established.
