There has been a groundbreaking release recently: the officials have published three brief clips. These clips contain video recordings of what seems like unidentified aerial phenomena.
Earlier, these clips were made public unofficially. However, last year the clips were acknowledged as authentic by the Navy.
The official publication aimed to clarify all the misunderstandings concerning credibility. Another task was to prove that there was nothing more in these videos. This information was announced by the spokeswoman of the Pentagon Sue Gough. In her statement, Sue Gough also claimed that after a comprehensive study, it was agreed that the publication of these clips, which were not classified, would not be capable of compromising the program. What is more, no following investigation can be infringed due to the publication. However, today there are clear protocols for the pilots on how to react in case of encountering a possible UFO.
In 2007, on instructions from the former senator from Nevada Harry Reid, a program was launched by the Pentagon. It was classified, and its task was to study encounters with unknown objects in the air. But in 2012, it was shut down due to the low priority of it. In 2017 the former head of this program, Luis Elizondo, told CNN that he thought that there was evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial life. According to him, the aircraft in question was significantly different from any US aircraft, as well as a foreign one. Members of the military personnel in the footage were perplexed by the speed of the aircraft: they were moving very fast. There were assumptions that those could be something like drones.
Harry Reid has also supported the publication of the videos by the Pentagon and said that it was just a small part of the collected data. The reason for his resignation was the level of secrecy around the program, combined with the lack of initiative to fund it. Reid has also emphasized that this or any other similar case should not be dismissed by the United States.
The abovementioned clips were first published somewhere at the end of 2017. It was possible due to the TTSA, a company, the main goals of which are to gather anomalous data and information, develop technologies, and educate people. A famous musician, the founder of rock bands Blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves, Tom DeLonge, is a co-founder of this company. What is more, in 2017, one of the members of the military personnel who was involved in the accident with unidentified objects back in 2004 told CNN that its manner of movement was inexplicable. David Fravor, retired US Navy pilot, mentioned that the object disappeared in less than two seconds after he tried to approach it. He also described its movement as similar to the one of a ball during a game of ping pong.
The incident still draws the attention of some congressmen. The spokeswoman for Democratic Virginia Senator Mark Warner Rachel Cohen said on CNN that the senator needs an explanation of the accident if there is anything that can put pilots’ lives at risk or interfere with their training. Whatever this explanation might be: alien creatures, weather balloons, or anything else. Safety is the key priority, and pilots do not need to risk their lives due to flight hazards.
